"Borneo Cruise" This was Wayne's first attempt at using the GeoFrac / Terragen combination. As you can see, we can probably expect even greater images coming from Wayne. Great job! |
"Victory
Valley"
Matteo created the entire landscape using
GeoFrac and then made this nice rendering using Terragen. |
"Lake LaSor!" by Jeff LaSor This beautiful scene was generated using the new Mid Point Displacement terrain generator plugin and then rendered in Terragen. Now if I could only build my dream house on this exact spot! :-) |
"Dunes!"
Sand dunes created in GeoFrac and then rendered in Terragen.
Another good example of GeoFrac's ability to generate different types of
terrains. |

"Devil's Island"
by Mike Lennox
Terrain made solely
in GeoFrac using the I-2-H plugin. It's Mike's wife's graduation portrait,
with no changes made. Exported via the cropping wizard direct to Terragen,
and applied a simple surface map. COOL! Nice job Mike! |

"Mt. Ellen" This one is from a DEM file of Mt. Ellen VT. Imported into GeoFrac and then rendered in Terragen.. |
"Mountain Peak" by Jeff LaSor Another terrain generated from a DEM file in GeoFrac and then rendered in Terragen.. |
"Alpha Centauri" by Jeff LaSor Somewhere out there! Standing on a desolate planet in the Alpha-Centauri system. |
"Canyon Pass" by Jeff LaSor One thing I love about Terragen is its ability to generate great depth. I used GeoFrac to carve out a canyon in a 1024x1024 grid that looks "miles" long when rendered in Terragen. |
"Mount St. Helens" by Jeff LaSor Another view point looking up into the mouth the volcano. |
"Mount St. Helens" by Jeff LaSor Using GeoFrac's DEM plugin, I brought Mt. St. Helens' height data into GeoFrac, got the scaling (about) right, then exported it to Terragen and voila! Mount St. Helens! |
"The Lake" by Jeff LaSor Yet another nice result using GeoFrac & Terragen combination. |
"The Morning Calm" by Jeff LaSor A beautiful rendering of the morning dawn. Landscape generated using GeoFrac and rendered with Terragen. |
"Martian Lakes" by Jeff LaSor More small pockets of water found on Mars' surface. Created in GeoFrac, rendered with Terragen. |
"Water Discovered!" by Jeff LaSor NASA surveyor discovered water on Mars, shown here in a picture of some major impact craters. :-) Actually I used GeoFrac and the new Terragen export plugin to render it in Terragen. |

"Smell That Fresh Air" by Quag Quag used 6 separate terrain's that he created in GeoFrac, then imported them into 3D StudioMax, turned two layers upside down some end to end and two layer's for the ground. Then made quad patches for the water. Nice cave scene Quag! Thanks! |

"Secrets Of The Myst" by Ryan Knope Excellent eerie lagoon shot by Ryan. Thanks again! |
"Land" by Shea McCombs This landscape was created by Shea McCombs. The geometry was created using GeoFrac, and rendered in trueSpace4, finally Photoshop was used to hand-paint many of the highlights and details (sky, sun, etc). Great Job Shea! Thanks! |
"Paradise" by Ryan Knope Another great scene by Ryan Knope. Thanks Ryan!
"Desolate Place" by Ryan Knope This image was done by Ryan Knope. The landscape was created using GeoFrac2000, all other geometry and effects were done using other programs. Thanks Ryan! |
"Lunar" by Ryan Knope The landscape was created using GeoFrac2000, all other geometry and effects were done using other programs. Image by Ryan Knope. Thanks again Ryan!
This example was done using the asteroid plugin and then rendered in 3DS Max. |
"Fractal Worlds" This is one of the first images created using the fractal plugin (not yet released). Basically the texture map and bump maps were done in GeoFrac, and the rest was rendered in 3DS Max.
"Space Station" I've been working on a heightfield generator plugin that creates "Paneled" surfaces. I then used the results as texture maps and bump maps to create space station type tiled paneling. The image here is quite basic, but it demonstrates the end result quite well. This plugin is also NOT yet available. |
"Borg" Another example using the paneling plugin. This also could have been done using a planar mesh created from the paneled heightfield and then duplicated 6 times. However, bump maps tend to be less taxing on your system, but you also lose detail in the profiles and edges. |
Volcanic rock created using the Spectral Synthesis plugin, and then using the sculpting tools, a volcano like structure was "pulled" out of the landscape. A few filters were then applied and voila, a volcano. |
Same volcanic structure as above, only I used the Afterburn plugin in 3DS Max to create the billowing smoke. |
More to come...
