The Image-To-Heightfield plugin is broken down into three basic properties:
  1. Filename
  2. Image Size Percentage
  3. Vertical Scale

The Filename property is simply the name of the image file you wish to convert to height data. Clicking on this button brings up a file browse dialog, from which you can select the filename. Once an image file is selected, you will still need to push either the "Update Current Heightfield" or "Create New Heightfield" button. Pushing either of these buttons will load the image file, convert all colors to grayscale, and then, based on grayscale intensities, create the heightfield.  This is extremely useful if you're more comfortable or familiar with using other 3rd party image processing tools (ex. PhotoShop). Using these types of tools, you can create your own grayscale heightfields using whatever techniques and/or filters provided by the tools. Then, you can save the image, and import it into GeoFrac2000 using this plugin.

The Image Size Percentage allows you to scale the image by a given percentage. This is primarily done for large images.  Keep in mind that the mesh size will be determined by the heightfield size. Thus, large images can and will generate extremely large mesh objects. Therefore, the plugin provides a means to scale the image.

The Vertical Scale property, is just that, a vertical scale factor to apply to each height value. This was done because some converted images have very little change between color values converted to grayscale values. Thus, a scale factor is provide to bring out more detail.
